NEET UG 2020 admit card not releasing today; exam likely to be postponed

According to National Testing Agency, the examination date for National Eligibility Test – Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2020 is likely to be postponed due to the current lockdown. The new dates for NEET UG will be announced only after the lockdown period. Also, NTA will not be issuing the admit cards from Friday as was scheduled previously. The new date for downloading of admits card will be issued following a review on April 14, 2020.

The matter on postponement of the exam scheduled for May 3, 2020 has been taken by Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As all boards like CBSE, NIOS and CISCE have postponed their exams after March 20; the competitive exams are also affected. The JEE (main) exam too stands postponed after announcement of the 21-day lockdown across the country on March 24. According to a senior HRD official, “The new dates will be announced only after the lock down period is over. The ministry is in talks with the health ministry over the matter and new dates will be announced by NTA post the lockdown period.”
