Founded in the year 1934, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is the leading institution of the system of higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and one of the top university of Central Asia.The University also known as KAZNU Kazakhstan (KazNU), Kazakhstan is one of the leading Medical Colleges in Kazakhstan situated in Almaty, Kazakhstan.KazNu is located in the city of Almaty, which is largest metropolis, set in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. Almaty served as the country's capital until 1997 and remains Kazakhstan's trading and cultural hub. As the oldest university in the region, KazNU will celebrate 85 years anniversary in 2019. Al-FarabiKazNU is the leader of the National Rankings among the universities of Kazakhstan.

WORLD RANKING - Al-FarabiKazNU was ranked 220 in the QS World University Rankings 2018/19, making it Kazakhstan’s highest ranked university. Al-FarabiKazNU is ranked 11th in the Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) University Rankings.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION - The university is a member of the following international organisations: the International Association of Universities, European Society for Engineering Education, the international Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience and International Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, and the Indo-US Collaboration for Engineering Education.

UN ASSOCIATION - The University was the first among Central Asian universities to join the UN “Academic Impact” (UNAI) program and to become the Global HUB of UNAI on sustainability, aimed at support of 10 internationally recognised principles of the UN. In collaboration with the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan, Al-FarabiKazNU has joined the Global Model UN movement and established its flagship students-led program "The UN Model - the New Silk Road".

RESEARCH ADVANCEMENT- Al-FarabiKazNU covers a wide spectrum of fundamental and applied research which are conducted at 8 research institutes, 25 centres, 2 National Level Labs and in Regional Technopark. In May 2018 Al FarabiKazNU has launched the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development to coordinate all teaching and research activities of researchers and teaching staff in the area of sustainable development and green economy. The KazNU students showed the best results in Beijing-2008, London-2012 and Rio-2016 Olympic game Games.

PROGRAMS OFFERED - All undergraduate and postgraduate programs of KazNU accredited by Accrediting Degree Programs such as, ASIIN, FIBAA, AQ, ACQUIN. In 2015 the university has opened the new faculty – Faculty of Medicine – Higher School of Public health. Nowadays, Al-FarabiKazNU has 15 schools which offer 82 BA, 102 MA and 63 PhD programs in engineering, natural sciences, humanitarian and social sciences, medical sciences and economics.

CAMPUS - Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has the largest campus in Kazakhstan with an area of 100 hectares, in one of the most beautiful areas of Almaty. The education infrastructure of the campus consists of 13 education buildings with a total area of 165,000 m² and scientific laboratories.KazNU has grown to enroll a largest cohort of students in Kazakhstan on its campus in downtown Almaty City, overlooking the gorgeous mountains of Alatau. The university campus is called "Kazgugrad", on land between Timiryazev Street, Al-Farabi Avenue, the "Yessentai" ("Vesnovka") river, and the Botanical Garden. The main building (GUK) is 15 stories tall and hosts the university administration as well as the History, Economics, Law, Philology and Journalism departments.

SUPER COMPUTER - In 2019 the university plans to install a supercomputer – the largest in the Central Asian region. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) is the leading institution of the system of higher education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and one of the top university of Central Asia.

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY - In 2001, the government classified it as a "national" university. More than 20,000 students, post-graduates and PhD students study at KazNU, and there are more than 2500 faculty members working at KazNU, including 400 doctors of science, professors and more than 800 candidates of science and associate professors. Like other universities founded under the Soviet system, it is highly centralised.

SMART CITY PROGRAM- Al-FarabiKazNU opened in 2019 a Two-Diploma Innovative Specialists Training Program - "Smart City." The university is also a member of the "Smart City" International Consortium of Universities. Together with the Universities of the European Union Al-Farabi develops the Master's Program in "Information Technologies for the Smart City" under the "ERASMUS +" project.

Eligibility Condition

Kazakhstan has been one of the top preferred destinations for international students to pursue their Medical Degree Courses.

Age - 17 years old on or before 31st December of the admission year.

Qualification - Candidates must be cleared 10+2 with 50% Aggregate in PCB (Bio should be the main subject) from a recognised board.

Minimum Qualifying (%) - Unreserved: 50%, Reserved: 45%
