Founded in 1955, Andijan State Medical Institute is one of the leading institutes in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The University is located in one of the ancient cities of Fergana valley. The Institute holds leading positions amongst higher education facilities of the Republic. The Fergana Valley is a valley in Central Asia spread across eastern Uzbekistan, southern Kyrgyzstan, and northern Tajikistan.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UNIVERSITY-

FACULTY AND STAFF– At present, the University has 3 faculties in the medical science department. The three faculties at the Andijan State Medical Institute are the Curative Works Faculty, the Paediatric Faculty and Physicians Faculty. The University has a staff of870 which includes 525 professorial-teaching staff in 55 departments, 34 of them are Doctors of science and 132 candidates of science. 4 staff members of the professorial-teaching staff of the institute are Honoured Workers of Science of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 3 – are members of New-York and 2 – members of the Russian Academy of Pedagogical Science.

DORMITORY– The University has a dormitory for students’ accommodation from its year of establishment. The number of rooms in the dormitory has been increasing as the years are progressing. Each dormitory at the students-town has its own kitchen, restrooms, study and computer rooms.

LIBRARY– The University has a huge library with good resources. The library has 5 reading rooms with a huge fund of 286000 books and 40 CDs in the electronic library with the newest collection of articles on medicine.

INFRASTRUCTURE- The Institute has all the necessary prerequisites for training process and research work on a  high level. There are more than 300 modern computers, mini-printing house, scanner, color printer, and copiers. There are 4 computer classes and 12 internet systems. Institute has its own website. There is a modern sports complex for students. At the Student Games, our students won several golden, silver and bronze medals.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION- The University has collaboration with Russian Medical University, Russian Academy of Postgraduate Education, St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Education, Kyiv Medical Academy, Volgograd Medical Academy, and Novosibirsk Medical University. The University students participate in conferences on research work in France. The scientists of the Instituteundergo job training in foreign countries: England, Denmark, Holland, Israel, Austria, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.
