Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino was established by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on 24th August 1990. Bukhara is known as the birthplace of Abu Ali ibn Sino – Avicenna, a world-renowned scientist who is in many ways considered the progenitor of medicine. Bukhara Medical Institute is a non-profit public higher education institution coeducational higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Bukhara. Bukhara is rich in historical sites, with about 140 architectural monuments. Located on the Silk Road, the city has long served as a center of trade, scholarship, culture, and religion.
