Founded in 1996,Kokshetau state university named after Sh. Ualikhanov is one of the leading institutions in an education system of the northern region of Kazakhstan with more than 50 years of its existence.Kokshetau State University is a modern, actively developing higher educational institution with great traditions, great potential and serious plans for the future. The University is located in Kokshetau City, Kazakhstan.Kokshetau formerly known as Kokchetav is the administrative centre of Aqmola Region, northern Kazakhstan.The temperature in the city varies from - 20.5oC in January to 25.9oC in July. The Kokshetau area is known for its two national parks, Burabay and Kokshetau. The city of Kokshetau is located on the shores of Lake Kopa.
PROGRAMS & COURSES - Kokshetau State University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognised higher education degrees in several areas of study. The university carries out educational activities for 47 specialties of a bachelor degree, 28 specialties of magistracy and 3 specialties PhD of doctoral studies.
FACULTYAND STUDENTS - There are about five thousand students, they are trained by 345 teachers, including – 12 members of academy of Sciences , 20 doctors of science, 80 candidates of science, 2 doctors of PhD and 175 undergraduates. An automated training system has been introduced, which includes subsystems for administering students and supporting the educational process.
RECOGNITION - KSU was awarded with the sign of the International award “EUROPEAN QUALITY”. In 2015, the university entered the European and Eurasian Association of Universities.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION - The university conducts a lot of work on development of communications with leading universities of the countries of the near and far abroad.The University has collaboration with Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Malaysia, Russia. Students are trained in the leading higher education institutions of the country and the countries of the foreign and neighbouring countries.
INFRASTRUCTURE– The University has several structural subdivisions: a scientific centre, a quality management system service, a department of information and automation, a department of innovative technologies, an information and computing centre, a centre for free study of the state language.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION– The medium of instruction is English. Study of Russian language compulsory in the 1st year which can be extended or as applicable as per the university norms. This is for facilitating effective interaction during the clinical period and comfortable stay. Passing of the Language is mandatory as per the University requirement.
FOOD - Nutritious and hygienically prepared food available in the college. All vegetables available in India are also available in Kazakhstan.Students can cook the food themselves
