The Black Sea National University named after PetroMohyla is one of the youngest higher educational institutions in Ukraine.It was established on January 17,1996 to acknowledge the need of the specialists along with the vision of providing higher education, especially in support of human welfare and social reforms. The University is located at Mykolaiv also known as Nikolaev which is a city in southern Ukraine, the administrative centre of the Mykolaiv Oblast. Black Sea National University n.a. PetroMohyla - is a classic European type institution, in whichthe main tasks are teaching and educating, research and innovation.
Accreditation and Recognition Black Sea National University has acquired the fourth level of accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Graduate foreign students of the university, having degrees & diplomas are legalised by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.Among the greatest achievements of the PMBSNU was approved recognition of Medical Council of India.
Within a very less span of time, the university has become one of the most respected institutions in the Southern region and in the national research community. The University is Ranked#24 out of 200 in international recognition and Ranked#40 in the overall UNESCO ranking of Ukrainian Universities.
The university campus includes 11 buildings, united in a single complex. There are all conditions for comfortable learning, activities, sports and leisure. The University has well equipped information-computer centre with Internet, publishing centre, students’ hall, cultural centre, swimming and racing station, 2 gyms, 4 training centres, art gallery, 3 hostels, canteen and 4 cafes.
Foreign students are housed in hostels, in rooms equipped with modern furniture, separate showers and toilets, and Hi-Speed Internet Connection.There are total 13 sports sections, including sailing, underwater sports, martial arts, etc. available in the University.
The University has a library with 110 000 books, including –those in 15 foreign languages. The territory of library covers 3 reading rooms with a total of 350 seats.
International activities of the University are aimed at integration into the world educational and scientific environment, in order to improve the quality of future professionals and the level of teaching with the help of international organisations and to promote the authority of the university abroad. Students and faculty members annually participate in internship programs and international exchange in many universities around the world.Many of thefacultygot diplomas and undertook apprenticeships at the best universities from France, Germany, Norway and USA.The University has license to prepare foreign students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Canada, China, Columbia, Georgia, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
PetroMohyla Black Sea National University offers training in BA and MA in economics, law, political science, international relations, history, sociology and social work, public administration. Teaching staff prepares doctors, ecologists, programmers, linguists, psychologists, managers and other highly paid professionals
