ACCREDITATION-

Sumy State University is a powerful higher educational institution of the Sumy region of the IV level of accreditation. This institution is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and recognized worldwide. The University is a signatory of Magna Charta Universitatum and a reliable member of International Association of Universities, European University Association, Euroasian Universities Association, Association of Economic Universities of South and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea Region, IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, IIENetwork and other international organizations.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION-

Sumy State University cooperates with more than 260 partners from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Japan, South Korea, China and other countries of the world.

LIBRARY-

University’s advanced library information system contains over 3 million items both in hard copies and e-copies and provides access to the most famous electronic databases of the world. The University’s library is a prize winner of All-Ukrainian contest “Library of the Year”.

COMPUTER LABS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY-

There are TOEFL-centre, resource and educational centres of Microsoft, Cisco, PortaOne, Delcam, NETCRACKER, Siemens, SAS, MindK and other companies operating at SumDU campus.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES-

The University has provision for 40 kinds of sports and about 100 sports groups are available at the University. Sports teams perform at the premier league level. About 100 students are the record breakers and prize winners of the Olympic Games, World, European and Ukrainian Championships.

STUDENTS-

The University currently serves about 14,000 students who are pursuing pre-bachelor, bachelor, specialist and master degrees in 51 majors and 22 fields of knowledge. These include about 1600 foreign students from almost 50 countries worldwide.

CURRICULUM-

The university is a participant in the Bologna educational process, therefore it is possible to obtain such academic degrees as bachelor, master and Ph.D.

HOSTEL AND ACCOMMODATION-

• International students are offered a guaranteed accommodation facility (homely hostels) by the University.
• Personal passes are allotted to all the students in order to enter in the hostel which will help to prevent any unauthorised access to the hostels.
• Full surveillance security system is available at the campus.
• Dinning facility is also available for the students living within campus.
• The Student Council organises various types of games between teams from different dormitories, on the occasion of New Year’s Day, the 8th of March, the Students’ Day, the Fall Day, etc.
